More help with my 89

Thanks for your opinions on my last post. I was asking if I should convert my 89 F-150 supercab, longbox to a flat deck. The thing I like about the flat deck is I am a hunter. When I manage to get a quad, it will handle that well. I also don't want to spend alot of cash on this thing. My 2000 F-150 got nailed by a drunk a few months back, thats why I am driving a little car. My girlfriends stepfather gave me the truck because, I think he felt sorry for me. So right now, I am on a budget. A new box is out of the question for me, mine is rotted out. A flat deck will be simple for me to make, keep the costs down, and still be practical. I also need to keep a few rubles on the side for a new gasket set for the 79 302 I have in the shed to install in this thing. Oh yeah, I am going back to a carburated engine with a C-4 transmission. Did ford produce the 80-86 fords with that drive train in a supercab, longbox? I tried to convince the parts guys here in town that that the Windsor blocks were backed by the C-4, but they were argueing it is a C-6. The only 302 I was aware that had a C-6 was the Boss. Am I on glue? My point is I will need a new driveshaft to fit when I pull the overdrive out. It's shot too. Does anyone else have any suggestions what I should do with this thing? Thanks for the help.

From: Back where I started...
I'm not sure when ford stopped using the c-4 (pre 1980?), but I've seen lots of 80's small blocks backed by c-6's. I'm thinkin' that if you have a aod in the truck now that a c-6 will go in there easy (Not sure). Are you sure the tranny you have w/ the 302 is a c-4?

Yes, I pulled the drivetrain out of a 79 LTD. It belonged to my dad, and he had the whole bottom end of the engine done, and the tranny rebuilt appox. 1500 kms before I ripped them out. Thar car ran like a top, so I'm not to worried about the bottom end right now. I just need to find a driveshaft that'll fit.
