Temporary primer
I need to cover some bare metal fill in holes until I can paint it. Is there a roller can primer I can use to protect it until I paint it. Areas I would use it would be spots on the firewall, engine compartment crossmember and top of frame. Any help would be appreciated.

Primer-surfacer doesn't seal out moisture, so it can rust through. For temporary protection, shoot some color (like gloss black) over it. It's enamel and will protect from rust better until you can do some "real" painting.

For are metal treatment
1. Clean with wax and grease remover.
2.Clean with metal conditioner.
3. Use a conversion coat or wash primer or etching
primer.
Then start your primer undercoat process.
