Dealer Demo

I have the oppotunity to purchase an 04 F250 PSD 4 door SB that "was used by the manager" for, aside from all other bargaining, $1 off for each of the 3300 miles. Does anyone have any experience or opinions, good or bad, about buying a demo?

The only way I can justify purchasing a demo is if it's the ONLY one around that matches what you're looking for. A lot of states consider a demo a "used" car for lemon-law purposes, which in NY means you have 90 days or 4000 miles to find out if it's a lemon, versus 24 months or 18,000 miles for a new vehicle. Otherwise, I think you can do as well or better on a brand-new truck. Now, are they deducting $3300 from the sticker, or an ADDITIONAL $3300 from the discounted price that they'd sell a new one for, clean deal? If it's off sticker, I'd shop elsewhere, 'cause you can do better than that on a brand-new truck. If it's $3300 off invoice, then that's a heck of a deal, and I'd look seriously at it. But I think you'll find it's the first scenario.

The truck I currently own (96 s10) was a demo. (one of the salesmen put about 5900 miles on it)

There wasn't anything wrong with mine, and we used it as a bargining chip to pay the base sticker price
