I was just coming back from lunch and my truck seemed to be running funny (running really rough, vibrations, etc). It made it through lunch but on the way back to work the Check Engine light came on.
I remember my old 97 had 3 coils go out, as well as the oxygen sensor, but it all happened when it hit 120,000 miles. My 2000 doesn't even have 30,000 miles on it.
Does anyone know what would cause these coils to go out like this? I'm running 89 octane with Ethanol through the truck and haven't had any problem until now.

Before you condemn the COPs (Coil On Plug) you should take the truck and get it scanned to see what code has turned on the Check Engine light.
The COPs do just fail for no good reason sometimes. Sometimes they fail due to getting water in the spark plug wells, coolant leaking on them etc.
