why discontinued???
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Apr-02 AT 08:31 PM (EST)]i found out that my truck needs a new starter safety switch in order for it to start but Ford discontinued the part, why would they discontinue a part for such a widley used tranny (C6), my truck isnt even that old, its an '87. it wouldnt really make me that mad but i just got my truck back from getting the tranny rebuilt so i could once again trust driving it and now i cant even get it started without jumping the solenoid. i wouldnt of even had to pay for it, i was getting it all done for my b-day present. ahhh

why discontinued???
Are you sure that it isn't available in the aftermarket? Maybe they changed the switch so that the number you're looking for is obsolete but replaced by another?

why would Ford discontinue a part like that, ive found that they have discontinued a bunch of parts that i have needed such as special parts for brakes, a thermostat housing, etc.

wow that does make since but still...... hah i cant beleive it, i have the worst luck with stuff like that, i was looking forward to being able to drive it without problems. ooohhhh man cant wait till its fixed for good.
