I have posted here before regarding possibly purchasing an Explorer. I have decided to purchase the 1996 but have one concern....
According to the 2001 version of LemonAid Explorers have a serious sudden accelleration problem. Now I own an 87 F150 and know problems can arise if you don't maintain your engine. Is this accelleration problem something is very common? Is it a result of not looking after your engine? Please any information would be greatfull
I seem to remember hearing about Fords that were having throttles stuck open or it would rev up in drive. It was something to do with how the throttle body was set up. Can't be for certain, but I do member hearing that about 4-5 years ago, so maybe that's what LemonAid was talking about. If it is, be careful and get it checked.
