01 Sport Trac Problem/Question? Help!?!?!
I have an '01 Sport Trac that we have been having problems with for about 8 months. Sometimes it doesn't want to stay started. After you start it, the RPM's go right back to 0 and it stutters and dies. You have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it started. Then if you want to actually drive, you have to 2 feet drive and keep one foot on the brake to slow down or stop and the other foot on the gas with the engine reved up to about 1K RPM's to keep it started (while you're sitting at stop lights, braking to turn, etc.). The check engine light has never come on so when we tried to pull codes nothing showed up. I have noticed that when it is low on gas (less than a half of a tank) it seems to do it more (it does not do it every day, just once in a while). I thought maybe it had to do with the fuel pump, but my husband says there are several possibilities. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there that is having or has had problems like these with their sport trac. Or if anyone has any suggestions on what it could be.
