Thx for the advice, I'll replace it this weekend and let yah know how things turn out. I already have the 'special tool' in my tool chest so i'm good with that. Also thanks for the AutoZone tip, I didn't know they performed that service (pull codes).

I think that iam having the same problem. everytime that it rains my 98 4.6 expd. has a hard time to start. do you know the thread that shows the pictures of the drain hole for the gem module. i want to make sure that i dont silicone something that i should'nt.

I think the 4by4freek is probably your best bet for an answer to this, 4x4 has this earlier reply on this thread: "use the search on this site for GEM Module. This should give you the answers you need." try that and see if it gives you the data your looking for.
As far as my earlier problems, the IAC replacement and throttle body cleaning have eliminated the problems that I was having, the IAC replacement probably would have done the trick by itself, but I had the throttle body done first in the sequence.
