The overhead console lamps (yes, the ones near the compass display) on my Explorer dont turn on. I tried prying off the lens and I found 2 round "chromed rings"(???).
I wanted to check the bulbs there for any burn out. But I found a round chromed plastic cap with a slot on. After I turned this counterclockwise a fuse came off. The fuse seemed good and I put it back in. But, xcuse my stupidity. where can I find the replacement bulbs for this lamps. Why only the left side had this cap/fuse assembly? Can this bulbs be replaced? What fuse on the panel should I check?
To tell you the true, those are the stupidest lamps I think. They are in a good position but don't always work. I think that you can but the bulbs at an autoparts store. My passenger light I think has a bad ground wire. It doesn't always work. Good luck.
