88 bronco dies when warm
help! i have a 1988 ford bronco, full size, with a 302. when it gets warm it dies. The engine is not overheating. It only dies on days that are hot, thus heating the temp under the hood. I replaced the ignition module in hopes of fixing the problem, but it didn't, i am at a loss. Any ideas? anyone?

Have you cleaned your IAC valve and throttle body ? If not, it can cause idling problems as it did on mine. Also, your throttle position sensor could be going out. Plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor can also have some effect on it. There are just so many things that can cause this. Go to the Zone or somewhere and get them to pull your codes for FREE or do it yourself with a paperclip. This is explained in your Haynes manual.

I'd put a new coil on it. They can do all kinds of weird stuff when they warm up. I just blew the ignition module in my 88 Bronco with a 351. From what I understand if the coil is bad it will take out the ingintion module when it goes completely. They installed a new coil with the module.
