I recently bought a 91 explorer and I am replacing the clutch, can anyone tell me how to remove the hydralic line from the slave cyl, I bought a chilton's but it just says to remove it, doesn't say how,and that's the only reason I bought the book. also my fuel gauge does not work, I can't find any problems behind the dash so i think it may be my sending unit, Is there an access panel, or do i have to drop the tank? or is this a common explorer problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.

The connection is a quick-connect. It requires a disconnect tool. Looks like a low dollar tool and should be at the auto part store. Basically it's a flat handle with a half-circle shape in the end, sort of a fork tool.
You must depress the white retainer within the fitting using the tool while pulling on the hydraulic line. You won't lose any fluid. To reinstall, just insert the male into the female until it locks.
