i know this has been discussed before but how about a list of the seats that will work in our trucks with little or no modifications. And is there any difference with the extended cab and/or crew cab truck seats. And when I say a little mod I mean maybe welding a plate to the bottom of the frame not cutting the frame apart and welding it back together.
I can't make a list (as the boss is watching me...), but the custom leather bucket seats and console I put in Harrison fit perfectly - no muss no fuss. Not even one little cuss word was needed; they came with a mounting kit made specifically for the 73-79 Fords. 45 minutes was all that was needed to do a turnkey job.
up to 1996 bench seats fit with no problems. the brackets swap over into the same holes. My seat came out of a 1993 crew cab. it was the back seat. $12.95 at the local salvage yard.
i put 40/60 leather seats out of a 1997 F-150 Lariat. THe driver seat, I just drilled new holes, no brackets needed, but with the passenger seat, i made new brackets and drilled new holes. Chech out the gallery to see the pics
I just put a power lumbar 60/40 seat from a 1989 Lariat in my 1978 Lariat. The front botled up perfectly, but I had to drill a hole on each side for the back. I just put the original 4 bolts back in the hole at the back so no fumes or water could come in. Wiring the seat was easy as I had on open spot to run a fuse from the fuse box and line to the seat.
Removal and installation took me a little over an hour inclding vaccuming the carpet and reffeding the seat belts through the new seat.
I picked it up a a wrecking yard for $350.00 no wear or stains.
Very comfortable!
