Have cleaned egr valve and it appears to be working and replaced fuel filter. Truck is running better but still throwing the 1131 code intermitantly. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Now thinking about the DPFE sensor.
When you cleaned the EGR,did you poke out the small port under the EGR valve in the intake?Under the EGR,in the intake there is a finger sized hole,at the BOTTOM of this hole is a small port that gets clogged and needs to be poked out with a stiff peice of wire and a pipe cleaner.Did you ever get any other codes? Have you checked the thecnical inforamation section in the "sticky" at the top of the page for OBD II code deffinations and causes?
Couldn't find the port. Looked with a mirror. Maybe its so clogged it looks like flat metal.
Should I take it off and look again? Yes, I checked the sticky but 1131 seems to be a generic code with several possible causes. I'm just trying to take the easy ones first.
There's a port there somewhere, you could try poking a peice of bailing wire around untill you feel it go through.or shine a bright light into the throttle body and see if any light comes through.
