I was just recently in an accedent while driving my 1977 f-150 and i need to replace the grill i have two options a black one or a grey one which color do you guys think looks beter?
After I saw the image of the '79 bronco in the Pictorial Section here at FTE I new I would never again leave the grille the factory black or silver. Especially with that blue color - the grille looks awsome painted to match the truck - check it out in the pictorial section under '79 and look for the blue bronc. Or maybe this link will work if I am lucky:
I think it depends on the truck. The black grille looks good on "sporty" models such as Free-wheeling trucks and stepsides. The gray grille looks good on plain-jane Customs. The chrome and silver grille looks good on fancier models such as Lariats, XLTs, and, Explorers.
Depends on the boby color to me, some look good with black, all good (IMO) with chrome, and some look good with the silver.
Plus , what you'd like. After all , you're the one paying for it.
Me? I'm waiting to I get to the bridge before I come back and ask you what you think would go good with a yellow truck w/ a white top on the cab , but I'm leaning towards the chrome.
See ya in a couple years (if I'm lucky!)
chevey hater77,
My 1979 F150 Shortbed 4X4 came stock with a silver grill, I painted it black to make it look more sporty, and to make the aluminum trim stand out.
