Should I Buy It?
We are looking for a much better vehicle to haul our Trail Lite camper (besides our 'lil 2001 Dodge Durango, SORRY for mentioning mopar).
We have found a single owner 1997 Ford F350 Dually Diesel loaded with 175,000 miles that is in really good shape for $13,900. Is there anything that would discourage me from buying that (I have heard that you can have around 300,000 miles on that engine if properly maintained). I'm new to the diesel world and not sure what else could be a source of problems for us mechanically.
I would like to drive this for a couple years and maybe trade up to a newer Ford F350, or drive it 'til the wheels fall off. I don't see us getting a much bigger camper at this point, but you never know.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

that happened to my boss' truck
f350 dually, diesel with a dumper box
we had the snow plow mounted on front which probably cuased our problem
going down a hill he hit some bumps and the truck began to buck, the blade hit the ground and back lifting up.
next thing the U-bolts snapped... bent drive shaft, broken springs, hangers and rear differential all twisted up.
i think the final bill came to around 3000$
i also remember him complaining about the cost of a new clutch and a starter. the engines last a lot longer but you shell out a lot more when you're replacing parts
but you can pull a lot of trailer with that. i can still remember filling the dumper with gravel with a bobcat just to get a little better traction in winter
