I use it all the time.. Gives you a good idea of what kind of deal you can get.. My current truck was bought under the Costco program & was a fixed $400 over invoice.. It varies from make to make, dealer to dealer, but it's in writing..

I want to check it out but I'm not a CostCo member and it costs $45 to join.
Can anyone who is a CostCo member do me a favor? Check the price of a 2004/2005 E-350 Super Duty Extended XL in the Anchorage Alaska area. How much over invoice? And which dealer?
I'll become a CostCo member if they can offer a good discount in Alaska too.
You don't need to be a member to price a vehicle online...
Yes, I priced the E-350 at $26,988 Invoice and $30,820 MSRP
But you have to be a member of CostCo to be put in contact with an "authorized dealer" who will then give you a price you can buy the vehicle at. That's how it works right?
I don't know if they ask for your membership number at that point, but when I went in to the dealership, they asked for my card and recorded the number..

No, you don't need a CostCo membership to use the site and get refered to an authorized dealer.
I gave it a try but they refered me to a dealer in Seattle WA.
We have two CostCo stores in Anchorage but no authorized CostCo Ford dealers.
Costco dealer or not you shouldn't pay more than $500 over invoice for any car. The less the better of course.... Take the invoice price and shop dealers for the best deal. Start below and go from there. If your buying off the lot then the last couple days of the month couldn't hurt either.
I think the whole "invoice" thing is a scam now anyways. Back in the day before the internet invoice ment what it should. I think now the manufacturers have inflated the MSRP so much that "invoice" is now the norm.

Excellent advice V10man. That's what I'm trying to do now. I did find one dealer that will sell for $1,000 over invoice for a E-350 in Soldotna (3 1/2 hour drive from Anchorage). I guess this is a good deal for Alaska? I'm still trying to get a better deal in Anchorage so I don't have to drive so far.
If it's a firewall issue, the fix is not as simple as disabling it. I tried it with my Norton Security firewall at home and I still can't get through from the Costco site to the chrome.com site.
