clutch shudder problem
I had a real bad clutch shudder in my '82 F-100 6cyl/4spd so I replaced the old 10" flywheel/clutch/pressure plate and installed all new 11" replacement parts. I still have a little bit of shudder when I take off from first gear and I am wondering if there could be another problem somewhere that caused the first set of clutch components to fail. The old flywheel had burn spots and many cracks and the old clutch disc was worn to where there were chunks of the friction material broken off. Is this a common problem with the 6 cylinder/4spd combo?

did you check the rear main seal? You might have a bad seal that's letting oil leak onto the clutch. Just a thought, but did you use a new pilot bearing?
