spedometer trouble
HI I have a 1988 F150 with a 4.9L backed by a 4 speed manual transmission, with cruze control. And recenty my spedomiter has started to jump and or not work at all I have replaced the gear that is attached to the bottom cable but it did no good. Any help/sugestions would be much appriciated. Many Thanks O ya the cruze dosnt work now either.

The speedo is shot, thats really all there is to it, and needs to be replaced.
As luck will have it, the 88 can use a cluster from 89 back, and is compatible with any of the gas engined F-series (150, 250, 350) and even the Bronco. Go to your local junkyard and snag one. They should be fairly plentiful.
I even see them on ebay fairly often.
