99' Explorer Spark Plug problems

Ive got 5 of the 6 spark plugs changed out in my friends 99' Explorer.
How in the world do I get the one out in the back on the passengers side. Do I need to move something? I cant even get my hand in there to grab the boot. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Just like GrayRanger said... take off the splash shield from the wheel well and you can get to it from there. I did the plugs on my 99 a few months ago... I found that doing all of them from the wheel wells was a lot easy, both on the back and the frustration level, then trying to do it from the top.

You'll find that all the plugs are easier to get to from down there.

MSP541.... they would probably show enough wear to warrant replacement at about 60,000 or so.... however, I would ckeck them about every 25 - 30,000.... or if you start to develope a miss, that would be the first thing that I would check. If you do end up replacing them, get a good set of wires before you start the job. You are bound to tear a wire tring to get them off... so it is worth the extra money up front versus the frustration of having to make a second trip out.

With that last one you dont even have to take the wheel off. Just crank the steering wheel as far as itll go and you should be able to get to it.
