I have an aluminum tool box on my truck and the aluminum would get black stuff on anything stored in the tool box. I posted awhile back about the problem and someone suggested spraying the inside of the box with auto udercoating.
Big mistake. Now when it gets hot 95 everday (probably 110 in the toolbox) the undercoating melts gets soft. Now I get something like tar on everthing in the toolbox.
Any suggestions on how to remove the undercoating. Auto paint stripper, kerosene, and then hit it with the pressure washer?
I have a pressure washer. I don't think the pressure washer alone will remove the undercoating.
Putty knife sounds kinda of labor intensive. ( I'm lazy and it's hot)
I'm gonna remove the box from the bed to try and get rid of the undrcoating, so some strong strippers or any other product won't damage the paint on my truck.
Would something like Klean Strip paint remover or kerosene do the trick? Would kerosene leave a strong odor?
All ideas or suggestions appreciated.
