My buddy has a 91 F-250 4x4 w/ a 351W
He cant find but one set of headers for it, and they are over 200 bucks.

Try Gibson, Ford Racing, and Bassani.

Your friend will much better off laying down the extra coin and getting some quality headers and gaskets. I've go the Ford racing stainless steel headers on my truck and they work fine. They cost more but they shouldn't wear out anytime soon.

Nothing wrong with mild steel headers short term, but eventually they willl burn though as often they utilize thin-wall tubing so its easy to bend. The solution here is to coat the inside of the headers with something like Jet-Hot or equivilent, and they will last significantly longer.

But that adds to the cost, and you might as well buy stainless headers, which pretty much last forever.

If you want to go super cheap, pick up some 3/8" steel plate, use an exhaust gasket as a template, and cut out a header flange. Then buy scraps from your local midas/mineke as they often have exhaust tubes bent incorrect for pennies on the dollars. "Employee screwups" are cheap.

If you can cut and weld, a set of "employee screwup" homemade headers might cost you $75 to 100, and you can make them anyway you like to clear anything you want.

You can even by used headers off e-bay or sometimes you'll see headered cars/trucks in the junkyard. Got a set for my old 75 Dodge D200 that way, found a set of "B" block headers on a similar truck that was sitting on its roof. Was a PITA to get them off because the truck was upside down, but they cost me $25 for the set and only had very light surface rust.

Many, many options for the cheap in all of us. But if you want it to last, mild steel headers with coatings (on the inside) or stainless all the way.
