Computer question

Do all the trucks in a model year have the same computer (ECM) or does the computer vary according to the engine? In other words, do all 1987 Ford pickups, regardless of engine, use the same ECM?

Nope, as far as I know, for 1987 there was basically one computer BUT using differents program/calibration inside for gasoline AND one more for diesel engine.
