Engine won't stay running??
I have a 1989 F-150 and my uncle and I just finished swapping my 5.0L EFI for a Jasper rebuilt 351W. I bought an Edelbrock Performer Intake and a MSD Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run Distributor. The problem is the intake isn't "Performing" and the distributor isn't "Ready-to-Run", lol. At first we couldn't get any fuel pressure and it wouldn't fire at all, then on a hunch, we plugged the old distributor in (without installing it) and the engine fired. However it won't run for more than a second without cutting right back off. The firing order is right and the timing isn't far off. As far as we can tell, it's a computer problem, but I didn't know the computer could control the fuel pressure. One other thing we discovered is if we ground the old distributor, it won't fire either. The weird thing is, we're pretty sure it's getting spark all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions?
