Carbon Deposit Remover?
'93 4.0L 145,00 miles. Have read all the posts on pinking/knocking which is what I have. Nasty clatter upon acceleration! Check Engine light has come on a couple of times after 2 hours of 70 mph Turnpike driving. Sounds like it could be the EGR valve and/or carbon deposits. Haynes book is pretty vague about where EGR is. What recommendations for a good carbon deposit remover? I've heard BG44K is good. Water spray bottle sounds dangerous. Plugs/wires changed 3 yrs/38K miles ago. Thanks!

The check engine light is trying to tell you something. Get the codes pulled or pull them yourself, that will point you in the right direction.

Here is the description for the De-Carbon procedure, it is for a SHO, but it should be similiar, I use Berrymans B-12, best stuff in the world.
