Stereo input for my Explorer

I have a 2001 Explorer sport with the cd tape stereo. Has anyone tried to make a direct connection input with it? I am trying to hook up an MP3 player and I would rather not get a frequency transmitter.

Stereo input for my Explorer

I would be interested in this also... I would like to mount a 1/8" stereo jack in my dash with a switch so that I can alternate between the tape and aux (AKA my laptop). If anyone has found this possible, let us know!

If your factory head unit has CD changer controls, or has the inputs on the back, you may be able to rig it up that way. Maybe?
