flame throwers
Coil (two for dual exhaust)
Spark plug & Wire (two for duals)
Condensor (usually near the coil on older engines of from a lawn mower)
Standard relay (horn relays are better but a standard one works fine)
Toggle switch
Push-button momentary switch.
These parts will get you a spark plug tester. Installing it into the FI 300 will do you no good as the amount of fuel in the exhaust is too low to ignite. The kit you but usually cuts out a spark plug or two and allows more unburnt gas into the exhaust. Unfortunately, it allows more unburnt gas down the cylinders and into your oil as well, significantly reducing the life of your motor. And that's not good.
I have my homemade kit installed on my 78 F150 460 4x4 and it does work. I have to pull the manual choke all the way out and pump the gas to get it to flame up, and I only get 2' long backfires as opposed to a "flame thrower" effect.
It's being removed as the risk of damage to the engine is too great for the little effect I get. That is until I get the fuel injection system installed.
