89 3.0 engine light

This may be a dumb question, but what would cause the engine light (not the check engine light) to stay on? Except some times when I let off the gas it will go off or steady driving on the highway it'll flicker a bit.

O2 could be bad. May need a tune-up or oil is low.

If it is not the Check Engine Light, then what light is it?

the engine light that lights up when you insert the key and turn to the on position without actually starting the engine. normally it goes off when the engine is started. Suppossedly a tune up was done not too long ago, oil level is fine. don't know about the o2 sensor though.

If it stays on without starting it could be the switch. The only reason they come-on is to let you know the lights are not burned out.

It might be the oil-pressure "giver", located on the back left side of the engine block, accessible from inside van through engine cover. First check the electrical connector. Mine was corroded and caused the same situation. Better connection means higher voltage means higher reading.
