Hesitation
It's kinda hard to explain, but sometimes when I start going from a dead stop, the truck will kind of jerk and then start to accelerate very slow, fuel filter checked, transmission fine. Any help or ideas appreciated.

My '78 Flareside had the same problem, it turned out it had a lot of vacuum leaks. I replaced all the dry rotted vacuum lines, no hesitation. Sometimes the egr valves on these will leak too. Unfortunately before I simply replaced the vacuum lines I did a complete tune-up, rebuilt carb, new pcv valve and breather. Oh well.

Well, today my dad replaced the vaccume module or whatever it is, hoses see fine, no leaks, so i will see if that fixes it, hope it did. only acted up once for him when he nailed the gas.

I don't know if anyone cares, but i am gonna post this in case it might help someone else out. The problem has finally been diagnosed, the tranny govenor is getting jammed and it is shifting into second as soon as you start off. Trial and error seemed to pay off.
