Np 208

is it a part time 4wd system or full time?
what is the shift pattern?

do you mean the warner 208, or new process 203. both can go either way. one is aluminum case, the other is caststeel.

i saw 208 on a round tag on the back of the transfer case
can the linkage to the shifter on the transfer case be adjusted?

The 208 in my '85 starts on the floor with 2HI-4HI-NEUTRAL-4LO when you pull it the whole way back. I'm pretty sure that there is no adjustment for the NP208. If you are having problems shifting, it is probably the shift forks going bad.

probally because all the way forward the axle is engaged but all the way towards the seat it is not so i know i have 4wd but not in the right places on the shifter

check the rubber bushings on the shift rod for wear.

Hmm, I had that problem when I put my buddys truck back together for him once, but, I have no sweet clue what I put in wrong to make the shift pattern backwards...

I was just thinking that something was backwards... It is probably the lever on the tcase that is reversed...

it could also have the wrong shift rod on it. there are 4 different lengths. try takeing the shift rod off the t case and shifting it from underneath. that way you will know if it is the t case or the shift mech.

i just spliced into mine and lengthend it a little when i couldnt find the right one. you could also shorten 1 by cutting and rewlding.

ya i guess that would work
when i put the lever all the way to the dash it is kind of in Neutral but grinds a little why would it do that?
