Throttle body replacement.....

I have an accelerator that is very difficult to use at times. Very stiff is the best way to describe it. I'm talking "stomp on it to get it to work" stiff. I was told by an experienced Ford technician that the only way to solve this is by replacing the throttle body. Any input from others who have had this problem or know the solution??? Thanks.

It could be worn and binding up , but I would first remove it and inspect it. You may be able to clean some build up out of the shaft bushings and free it up. It may be closing too far if simeone has tried to adjust it and it is closing too tight and binding up.
You may also want to check the cable (unhook it from the TB and see how smooth it is). If it is coming apart internally, ti will cause the same symptoms.

Jimmy, Thanks for the advice. Since I would not be changing the TB for performance reasons, what you recommend sounds like what I'm looking for.

MAC has a nice one. 75mm. It would probably be cheaper than a new stock one.
