diesel intake?

anybody read the diesel intake upgrade artical in the latest issue of four wheeler?it deals with the cummins 5.9 in a dodge but why wouldnt it work for our idi's?
in case you dont get the mag, they remove the stock air cleaner and cut a 41/2" hole in fire wall and draw air from the area below the windshield, the hole deal is a kit.
just wondered what you guys think.

Rancherman,
I did the radiator mount refabricate and duct in from the grill area on mine the other day. Wound up with a 4 x 10 intake to start off, which reduces to 3 x 7 to go through the radiator support area. Then it changes to 6" round and then reduces to 4" round to go in the air cleaner.
I am gonna take some pictures when I get it cleaned up a little on the inside of the engine compartment, right now I do not like how it is run in there, but I have an idea or two on how it will work even better.
As it is my boost guage shows 4 to 5 pounds of boost at 70 with my foot off the throttle.
With the stock intake it would drop to 0 when I took my foot off the throttle.

With the turbo the boost does not go any higher than it did, but it sure does come up a lot faster.

I also need to fabricate a screen to keep the birds out of the air cleaner, and I also need to trim the front piece back a little so I can reinstall the grill.

Yeah well you know how it is.....you do not even want to hear about the lastest chapter in my engine story. I may be getting a third engine due to low oil pressure.
