Interesting Rumor
My friend called me today, He just took his 04 Excursion 6.0 to the dealer(Galpin Ford,Ca.) and they told him all the 6.0 have to be flashed before they will register your vehicle when due. If anybody has any info. on this please let me know. Sounds like a bunch of _____!

sounds like the e303 emission flash for OBD-2 compliance..... it seems the ford code would not work in all universal obd-2 code readers, and thus would not be legal in cali. of course, this is the flash that "stole" P.I. (as some say) for me. i have been happy with it however.
i had read that you would not be able to register with the old flash as well, but it was due to the code scanner thing.

It's horse manure, I have an 03 blew off the flash, got my renewal from DMV, mailed it in and got new tags.
Diesels aren't smog tested in CALIFORNIA

I got my recall notice about a month before my registration was due (Feb 04). Never got the reflash, sent in my paper work and got my new tags. Still have not gotten the reflash, and won't any time soon. See how things go next year.
