Alternative fuel tank question
I was browsing the northern tool catalog and noticed they have a combination tool box/auxillary tank combination that looks like a cross bed tool box. 40 gallons and up. I thought that would be a neat way to get the tank out of the cab of my '63.
Unfortunately, the smallest one they have (width-wise) is 56 inches. My flaresize bed is 49" across. Sigh.
Anyone know where they source these or if there is another vendor with the same sorta setup?

Been there myself...went to "overton's" marine catalog.....they have a variety of sizes and configurations....tank was about $110 with nozzle filler kit...also got SW fuel gauge. Built it into a plywood tank/storage box unit that sets in front of bed. I am running a bed cover but don't see why you couldn't weatherproof for way less than the big bucks tanks in northern. BTW, it functions perfectly....18 gallons. Only down side is there is no DOT certification for street use but the fuel flows just fine!
