i got a 1971 cleveland and have gotten it tore down except the dizzy won't come out. I sprayed wd 40 around the base, pryed with 2 pry bars and that didn't work. So after i got the rest tore apart i tryed beating it up threw the bottom with a punch. And i used a chisel against the gear but it won't come out. I was wonder how i am going to get it out because i need the block.
you could put that chisel to use on the base of it as close to the block as you can to try and get it to turn. easier than pulling it straight up with pry bars, that way never seems to work.. it sounds like its no good anyway. bigger hammer, pipe wrench?
I have this stuff called "Pipe Break" in a green can ,its loosened stuff that I couldn't budge with a 2 ft cheater bar. except I don't remember where I got it.
ok first mark the current location and rotor
remove the hold-down(i figure ya got it but eh)
stap or chain wench may get it to turn
if not heat and cool it to get it to break the seal
if you are not planning to reuse it or need it for a core a dead blow hammer on th vac advance to get it to turn
