69 model 429

i have a 69 model 429 that came out of a mercury car. the head #s are c8ve-e.could someone tell me what this means. are they good heads for a rebuild. it has a blown head gasket so i have to pull them anyway and was just wondering if they are the ones i would need to put back on it if i hopped it up with a cam and stuff. thanks

Great engine, great heads. Probably the best of all. It is high compression, so you will want to consider that.

If you decide to rebuild without boring be sure to check the piston skirts carefully. They have a nasty habit of cracking. Ditto what scroob said about the heads.

320 brake HP for the 2 V. The 4V was 360.
