This is a stupid one, but I can not remember how the rear bumper brackets bolt onto the frame for my 56. I just received my new powder coated brakets along with a new chrome rear bumper. Before I dive in and scratch everything up, do the brackets bolt to the outside of the frame or the inside or one out side and one inside? There are of course, two pieces to each side. My truck did not come with a rear bumper so I never saw how they are bolted on.
Both brackets go on the outside of the rails. Actually I don't think you could make them fit any other way without bending them up quite a bit. Not a stupid question though, after you just shelled out $$$$ for shiny new parts, untouched by huge bolt marks.
"There are no stupid questions- only the one that isn't asked."
(Actually I always thought that was a stupid saying. Anyone who has been to grade school has heard a stupid question from somebody or other.)
Actually, people who overuse the word "actually" actually sound stupid.
Thanks Mike, that is what I thought but was not sure. I am trying to get my truck somewhat ready for a truck show this Sunday. There will be a ton of F-100 trucks and clubs at this show. I missed last years so come hell or high water truck ready or not I am going.
