I am looking at a couple of differrent trucks and wondering what kind of fuel mileage to expect, on a F250 SD regular cab 4x4. The Powerstroke has impress me the most, but with the truck over the 8800 lbs no printout is available on fuel mileage. Also a friend said I should be concern about the flashing that is going on at dealers without the owners permission. Said it was due to lost of power and poor fuel mileage. Any help and information would really help. Thanks<!--emo&:flag:--><!--endemo-->

The regular cab will weigh MUCH less than 8800 lbs....not sur emy Ex weighs that much !
but I get a realistic 15 mpg (when I check it) around twon and I BEAT on mine !
I didn't buy it for fuel mileage, but it does get better than 3 other cars I've had recently !
Well...not to confuse you or anything but...a little search around here will get you anywhere from 12.5 (my MPG city) to 26 / 27 hwy reported yesterday or today.
A lot depends on equipment, driving habits, mods, & most important...luck of the draw.
Welcome to FTE...lots and lots of good info here. Lot's of reading / educational opportunities. Lot's of really good people.
I have heard alot of different stories. I guess it depends on the truck. I have a F350 4 door FX4 8 ft bed it is a 2004 and a 04 flash. I get 16.5 mpg hwy and 14.5 city. My next door neighbor has the exact same truck except for color baught at the same dealership on the same week. His truck arrived 4 days after mine. He gets 13.5 all the time. So your question would be very hard to answer to me. I hope this info. helps.
I need remedial training...I can not seem to keep the dang RPM's under that 2,000 mark. Who talked me into that Predator anyway?
I'm gonna talk to the Predator boys...they should include a rope with that darn programmer. Then I could tie it around my right foot and pull up on it when it starts to get heavy. Then maybe my city MPG's would get better.
Anyway Stewcon, my recommendation is DO NOT BUY a Ford 6.0. Then you'll have to buy a programmer. Then you'll have to add super duper cat / turbo back exhaust stuff. Then you'll have to unplug your EGR thing. Maybe even add an AirRaid system so the beast can breat better. Don't forget the gauges...hotta have the gauges. Then after all that you have to buy a ten gallon hat to hide the devil horns that come out every ding dang time a cheby or drudge truck pulls up. Then...game on...gotta show off...pound that go fast petal...go WOW & yippeee!.
Then submit a post about low MPG's all the while boasting how you just toasted the Bad Guys.
I repeat...don't buy a Ford 6.0...no fun...MPG's suck.
In addition also, please note: We don't have no stinkin' fun around here.
I get 18 - 19 highway at 70, 16.5 city, with Superchips tuner in Economy mode, slightly less with stock tune. Pulling 8000lb toy hauler I get around 14 with tuner, 12.5 stock tune. When I'm really playing with it hard with the tuner I still get better than 15 empty. Truck is 03/03 F250 CC FX4 with 14,000 miles. Love it!

Shock collar set to go off at 2100 rpm. It's called learning by association.
I have the lie-o-meter and have been hand calculating mpg's since tank #1. By calc method, I have seen a steady increase in mpg's over the first 1400 miles of break in. Now I admit this is limited data since it is only 1400 miles but have seen 13.5, 14.2, 14.6, 15.3 mpg's on a per tank average and I try to fill to the same mark. The driving conditions have been the same for all tanks so far and have been mixed in-town driving. I have yet to make a long trip over 50 miles at one go. I also have been using stanadyne since tank #2. The lie-o-meter has been consistenly between 15 and 17 mpg, and yes I hit reset after each tank. ALthough I didn't buy the PSD SD for the mpg's, I am please with what I am getting. The Std cab Dodge it replaced got about the same as I'm getting with the CC F250 and it keeps getting better. I will probably see the mpg's deminish once I strap a preditor to my foot, but don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm getting it to improve the mpg's and not the width of my grin while driving the beast.
Usually 18mpg running the errands to the town 14 miles away. Pulling our 5th wheel, 11,000 lbs, get around 11mpg. Darn good as far as I am concerned for the joy of driving this truck.
