I am having a problem with my truck. The driver’s side power window will not go down, but the passenger will. I searched the diagram and found the fused and changed it with my power seat to see if it would work and it still did not. I can hear a clicking sound coming from the area by the fuse panel in the truck, but according to the book there is no fuse for this in that place. Do any of you guru’s have any clue what it could be and how I can fix it? Thank you in advanced for your responses and this place is awesome.
Just recently had a similar problem... however it was the passenger side AND, the clicking noise actually came from the window motor... long story short... the track was bound up and had corrosion in the major pivot points.. I once had a friend tell me ... "do the easiest and cheapest things first." What he of course forgot to mention, is sometime you end of spending more money in the end... especially if you do not check everything the first time and do your research. This forum has many posts on how to handle and solve just about every problem.. It may take some time to search and find similar cases, but it is well worth it. My suggestion is to take the door apart and take the motor out and see if it is still functioning. In some cases there are two dimples that need to be drilled out to get to the bolts on the motor. Carefull... use a clamp or something to hold the window in place( I used a small bar clamp on the track to keep the parts from sliding in the track). That way you do not have to vaccum glass from the door panel. Then if the motor is functioning properly, carefully remove clamp WHILE holding on to the window track to keep the window from crashing down. Then check the window and see if the regulator or track may be malfunctioning. When I removed the clamp, the window stayed in the up position regardless of how hard I pulled.. After a little grease, she is as good as new.
In my case, I read a post on the forum in regards to the dim of the interior lights when the switch is pushed. Basically, without the engine running, if the switch is pushed and the interior lights dim... you have power... However, that still does not rule out some of the other little problems that can be associated with window problems. It could possibly be a relay. Now that is about the extent of my knowledge so far.. hope this helps, If not, other brighter and more experieced replies will follow. Good luck
