I have some questions for your car stereo installation pros. I have done some minor installation of head units in the past. Now I'm going to try a full installation. I have a 1998 Expedition. I'm planning to install an in-dash monitor/DVD player, 2 twelve inch subs and a 1400watt amp. I have some questions that I hope someone can address for me before I begin my installation. I have to run RCA cables from the front of the truck to the rear cargo area. From the front, I can hide the RCA cables under the center console, but they will be exposed for a short time from the back seat the the cargo area. Is there any other way to hide these, and is there such a product as a flat RCA cable. I was also wonder something else. If my head unit has subwoofer RCA outputs and HPF(High Pass Filter), do I really need a crossover? I'm not planning this installation for another month, and am trying to get all my last minute questions answered. Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give me.
I don't know much about the Expy, but on my Ranger XLT I ran all my power lines down one side and all the speaker and RCA lines down the other side.
Pop up the door sills and you should be able to pull up the carpet and tuck right under there. Usually grooves in the floor board that the wiring will sit down into and you can't see a thing when you're done. Can't even tell I have a 4 gauge running under the carpet and that's a mighty large wire.
