When I bought my mountaineer (used) the previous owner had two cables to be able to hook up from the truck round connector to a standard 4 pinf flat connector. In both cases the cables had been damaged (pinched in one case, dragged on the ground in the other) so they needed repair. It was easy enough to find the four pin flat connector with wires and I just cut off the needed ends for the truck... some solder, heatshrink, and time and I was all set.
Here's the question... is this some sort of custom Ford connector at the truck end. I went looking for an adapter cable with both ends correct (i.e. Ford connector to 4 pin) and could not locate one at the out supply places. If I wanted a replacement for the truck end of it (I do not like that it just hangs out under the truck like that) can I get them from someone other than a dealer?
looks like I answered my own question last night when I ordered a draw-tite hitch for the Mountaineer. On the etrailer.com the cable that I was looking for is PN 18345 in case others find this of interest.

OOOPS... major slip on my part... the PN is 18241.
