Misfire
This is a great site,I've got a 2001 EXPY 4.6, 60,000 miles,it started missing a little and check engine light came on. Had it read and #8 cylinder missfire. I changed the plug and the light went off. Ran great for a couple of days now it's
missing again, just little bit now and then. The check engine light is not on.
Any suggestions,thanks in advance.

The problem could also be the coil pack. There are four ignition coil packs on the v8 engines. Each one runs 2 cylinders. I had the same problem happen to me just one month ago. The coil #4 went bad and caused the 7 and 8 cylinders to misfire. I got a flashing "Check engine" light on the dash and the truck ran very rough. The part was $106.00 but the dealer wanted another $325.00 to install it. I took it to my locall mechanic who installed it for $75.00. The kicker is that I had to pay $98.00 diagnostic fee to the dealership because they had to plug in their machine for 30 seconds to diagnose the problem.
