Rear End Replacement

Been driving around hearing this whine at 40mph. Truck is 2 months old with 5000 miles. Bought it brand new at the dealer.....took it in for service after reading some info on this site...they have had it for 2 days now...telling me it will be next week sometime before I get it back...they are replacing the rear end. First they said it would be a re-built part...then they said it would be brand new after I complained about not getting a new factory part. They have offered me a rental car only after I complained....what a mess. Anything else I need to arm myself with regarding this problem?

What year is your truck? An 04 or a leftover 03?

Been there. Done that and a new driveshaft. Still makes whining noise during light acceleration at around 50 mph.

Rear end

I just dropped off my 03 Expy at the dealer. Same problem that I forgot to tell them about. Had a large list for them to go over. They rebuilt the rear clutch pack 2 months ago due to a vibration when making turns from a stop. Don't remember the whine at 42 MPH until they worked on it. Here's the list I set in in for. Dissapointed in this truck.
Rattle in both doors - known problem with Expy's
Truck seems like it wants to fishtail when going around turns
Rough idle
Vibration in steering wheel above 65 MPH

I've got a rattle in my driver's door also. I figured with all this going on I could get past that.....but when I first got the truck it drove me nuts!

I had a 97 Honda Accord before this. Drove for 7 years with no problem ever!! No rattles....no week in the shop....no nothing but good driving.
