fuel pump???

fuel pump???

i have this weird problem with the fuel pump in my 95 ford ranger 2.3L 2wd regular cab. i pulled up to a gas station, pumped gas and when i went to start it back up it sputtered out and wouldnt start again. i replaced the relay and the pump works when i wire it directly to a battery which tells me its not getting any current. but i know this particular curcuit isnt very complicated. does anyone know what the problem might be?? i appreciate any info at all.

I would throw a FP relay at it, cheap and easy.

Try resetting the inertia fuel shutoff switch. Sounds like maybe it tripped or has failed.

Its in the passenger side floor,just above the carpet under the dash by the kick panel.Just push the little button on top of it down.

i tried replacing the relay and the inertia switch was already down =\. any other ideas??

The wires that run to the fuel pump have a connector somewhere under the cab,I've heard this connector can get dirty and corroded,and loose connection.
