quick brake question

quick brake question

I just put all new shoes and 2 new front drums new master cylinder on my 74 highboy. my brake pedal feels good the brakes are less than good the pedal shoots back up when you let up could this be air in the lines or a bad master cylinder i bled them and thought i got all of tha air out?

Did you check your clearance from the shoes to the drums when you installed the new ones? If you did not go back and set the shoe gap to the drums until the shoe is almost touching the drums. Also it will take a few hundred miles to break in and seat the new shoe and drums. The preformance will improve some after they seat if everything else is okay.

yes i did that i dont know if the new brake booster i put on is in the right spot i put a half ton cab on the frame and all the parts houses show a different booster than what i had so i just took the bracket and flipped it over and drilled a new hole in the pedal i dont know if that is not right or what
