Coil Pack

is anyone else having problems with coil packs goin out on a regular baises? it there a way to stop them from goin out? any suggestions?

Which cylinders did these coil packs service?

Cylinder numbers:

Windshield
4---8
3---7
2---6
1---5
radiator

coil packs

i have had # 8 (passenger side against the firewall) go out on my twice the rest have held up so far

Actually, that's #4. Do the heater hoses run near or over this coil? Don't know about F150's, but Ford Expeditions have an issue with loose/leaky heater hoses dripping antifreeze on the #4 coil and shorting it out.

i have a 01 i've had to replace the number 8 coil pack i like my old fords better

I have a 99 F150 4x4 and I had 2 coils go bad on #4 cylinder because of that leaky heater hose. All it takes is to tighten that hose clamp and pressure test your system to make sure that is wont leak.
