help... pleeeease.

okay, seems weird. I've got a few problems brewing, so I think it seems electrical. My ABS light came on, my speedometer is dead, and occasionally goes crazy and bounces from 0-40. My transmission is bucking like a 5 dollar wh***. Pardon my french... I checked my fuses, but can't seem to pinpoint one. can a fuse be bad even if it's not clearly fried? Any hints or anything that would point me in the right direction would help tremondously. thanks in advance.

forgot to add, it's a 1994 f-150 5.8 with e4od.

okay, this is just a long shot, but it sounds like a loose connection in the wiring harness on the tranny or perhaps a computer glitch. i would check ALL connections that have anything to do with the tranny and make sure everything is clean, tight and properly connected. a friend had a problem like that and it was a loose connection. sometimes a rusty connection will not make good contact.

If the 94 is like my 95 there is a speed sensor in the top center of the differential - I would check the contacts there and possibly replace the sensor. You have rear ABS if yours is like mine and I believe the speed sensor is tied into the ABS system.

I agree - speed sensor is the likely cause. The same sensor is used for abs, cruise, computer/transmission, and speedometer.

The speed sensor is on the differential, sticking up, or to one side, depending on the differential that your truck has.

You can't miss it, its the only electrical wires attached to your rear axle.

In simplest terms, its a round thing sticking out with two wires attached to it.

The only place there are wires going into the rear axle. My truck did the same thing. I drove through some high weeds and tore them off.
