My dealer replaced the ring and pinion gear which helped for a bit, but now the vibe is back. They had the truck for 2 weeks while I was on vacation and tried numerous things, but I am waitng on a backordered Drive shaft to come in.
I drove a F150 2004 as test drive ( not buy it yet..need to sell my jeep wrangler first) and it has vibrating after 40-50mph..A dealer said they dont know yet and he aware of it since few people complained and they couldnt figure it out..
i have a 04 f-150 with 20" wheels on it and i have toyo tires on mine (picture in gallery) but they changed the tires and it still vibrates alot, it even does it worse now. does yalls trucks have 20" rims or stock.
Dealer replaced two tires, which cured most of it, I rotated the driveshaft 90 degrees which cleared up the rest of it. The vehicle is very sensative to any road variations. On the few smooth roads in New England I can find, the truck is now smooth as anything.
I posted this on another thread here.
I bought an 04 FX4 in June. So far the dealer has replaced the driveshaft, rear-end assembly and just installed a vibration dampner.
Still vibrates!

Well, im curious if ford has made corrections on the line to eliminate this vibration. Will a truck that is built today be less likely to have the vibration as opposed to one that was built 4 months ago.
Before anyone talks about vibration they should state mileage when it started, name brand and size tires they are running.
My 04' Lariat was smooth as silk till I had 300miles and now a get a slight vibration at 65-70mph...."sometimes" I've only got 500 on it as of today. The vibration I saw was only after 50 miles at that speed after things were well warmed up. I can't get it to do it just blasting up to 65-70. Seems like everything has to warm up to operating temp then the vibration starts.
Mine has 275 x 65R x 18 BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A's under it..
We need exact descriptions of when this vibration starts.
Bfg 275/65r18 . Started At 5000 Miles. Forced Balanced Twice. This Was At 10000. All Original Tires No Good!! Replaced All 4 Shoes. 1 New One No Good. Spare Best Of Lot!! Rear Lft/load Damper Kit Installed. Smooth Ride Lasted 20 Miles. I Have A ? When In Park Engine At Idle.is It Normal For Tires To Be Vibrating. Try It. Let Me Know. Thanks
