I just recently purchased a 2000 F-250 SD with a 7.3 PS. I have to say first off this is the nices driving truck I have ever owned.
I have a chipper trailor I pull around for work. The chipper trailor (chipper with a holding containment unit which has a hydrolic dump) it is very well built and heavy enough to make the back end go just past level. I looked at the rear springs and there not bottomed out but I dont want to stress them too much. I need this truck to last me for a few years. Ive done some serches on the internet and have found some helper springs available. I was wondering which ones to avoid or to get any help her would be great. Ive been sitting here reading thread after thread and havent found any real helpfull info that i can research further. Thanks for any reccomendations.
I too have been thinking about this as well but have come up empty. I am empty most of the time but the extra leaves with out the extra bouce would be nice. You may also try a spring shop and add a couple of leafs to it and beef it up for ya.
I hate to recommend the dealer but if you can't find them anywhere else. Have you thought about airbags? Definetly more expensive then the overload pack but the performance is probably worth it. As for the aftermarket overloads, as long as they are rated for the weight you want to haul you should be fine. I have never used thier overloads, but have had good luck with Hellwig products. Don't know if they have an application for your truck.

Thanks for the help. I'll check into the airbags? My dad said to not try the overloads that attach to the main springs but im not sure he is all that he knows that much about them or if they work as well as the add's specify.
