i am redoing the interior and i cant decide which colors to use and would like ur opinions
choice 1 light tan (leather) seats with 2 tone light tan/gray door/side panels, dash, and trim with gray flooring ... slight amount of wood trim on dash
choice 2 gray (leather) seats with grey door/side panels, dash, trim with gray flooring and slightly more wood trim on arm rests and paneling along with dash
choice 3 gray (leather) seats with grey door/side panels, dash, trim with black flooring and maybe some black trim .... with slight wood trim on dash
and im open to other suggestions
thanks for sharing opinions
I've always liked black with tan interior, but I can't picture it with gray door panels and carpets. I'm assuming the only carpets you have to work with are gray or black.
I'd go with number 2 if your carpets won't be subjected to mud, grease, dark stains. The black carpet is great at hiding that, but it will need to vacuumed all the time of you get a lot of dust, clay, sand, etc...
I like the wood trim, too, but a lot of people go overboard with it. Start with just the pieces you feel the interior REALLY needs, then stand back and ask yourself if it needs anymore. I don't know about you, but my hood release handle doesn't need wood trim on it.
well the floor is going to be herculiner so it will be hard and i may be mis representing by saying tan i mean a very light biege sorta cream color the wood trim includes a wood speaker cover that i am building in the front door panels and armrests for the back seat
BTW when i say door/ side panels i mean on the inside nothing on the outside will change except maybe the removable top color could go to beige if i go that route
Not so sure I'd do a beige top color with that black paint. But hey, whatever tickles your fancy! I like the look of higher-end vehicles that have the light tan dash and trim to go with the seats. If you're not crazy about all that tan, I'd go with choice #3.
And BTW, 1956MarkII, I laughed pretty hard on the hood release comment...
