need more power

i was thinking if i got a set of headders could i put the gasket on the head and grind the ports till they fit or would that get into the water jakets. is this posibale or just a stuped idea would it help the hp or tq.

any info would be good

As a general rule do not gasket match. Leave the ports alone unless you are experienced and have access to a flow bench.

If doing it on the engine I wouldn't even think about it.

the heads are off and i am sending them away to get rebuilt after

Unless you know what you are doing leave them alone. The Cleveland style heads used on the 351M or 400 flow better than most anyway.
